Somewhere around fifty, something shifts. Not a decline — a turn. The kids are grown, or nearly. The career is long enough to look back on. There’s more room for the things you actually want to do, and more questions about how to do them well. It’s a genuinely good chapter. But it’s one the internet doesn’t serve very well.
Look around online and you’ll find plenty aimed at people in this stage — and most of it is either trying to sell you something, warning you about your health, or explaining things as though you’d never figured anything out before. Meanwhile, the ordinary stuff of a good life — how this new gadget works, whether that email is a scam, where to go, what to read, what’s worth your time and money — comes at you scattered and confusing and vaguely condescending.
I thought: someone should just talk about all of it the way you’d talk to a friend across the kitchen table. Honestly. Warmly. Without a single drop of condescension.
So that’s what Gleemo is. Your companion for the next chapter — a place to find answers, take a breath, have a little fun, and know you’re in good company.
Who’s behind it
Hi, I’m Kyu Lee — and I’m getting older right alongside you, just with a tech background that happens to come in handy. I spent about twenty years working in enterprise technology and data, which taught me how to take something complicated and make it plain. And like many of you, I have people in my life I worry about — parents, friends, and neighbors heading into retirement — and I’m heading into this chapter myself.
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me on the golf course, out on a hiking trail, or planning my next trip. And here’s the thing — even those simple pleasures have technology woven through them now, from the apps that book a tee time to the ones that map a trail or smooth out travel. So a lot of what I share here comes straight from my own experience figuring it out.
I’m not a doctor, a lawyer, or a financial advisor, and I’ll always tell you when something is outside what I can help with. What I can do is cut through the noise and give you clear, honest help with the things that actually come up in everyday life.
What Gleemo is for
Three things, really.
A place to find real answers. When something’s confusing — a device, a scam email, a decision about a parent — you should be able to get a straight answer from someone who’s actually looked into it and has no reason to spin you. That’s the job.
A place to enjoy yourself. Not everything has to be a problem to solve. Some days you just want a good story, a fun fact worth repeating, an idea for a trip, or five quiet minutes that leave you better than they found you. That belongs here too.
A place to feel like you’re among friends. Nobody’s doing this chapter alone, even when it feels that way. The questions you’re asking, someone else is asking too. Gleemo is meant to be somewhere you’re glad to come back to — and where your questions actually shape what gets written next.

Three things I’ll always hold to:
- I’ll never talk down to you. You’re a smart, capable adult who just wants something explained clearly. That’s how I’ll always treat you.
- I’ll be honest. If a product isn’t worth it, or a claim doesn’t hold up, I’ll say so. When I’m not certain about a fact, I check it before I publish it — and if I can’t verify it, I leave it out.
- I’ll keep it simple. No homework, no pressure to keep up. Just the one or two things that make your day a little easier — or a little better.
